Interview with Emilio Gonzales and Guadalupe, hair stylists and community volunteers/activists, concerning his youth working in the cotton fields and gins of South and West Texas; his decision to go to barber school, 1957; his marriage to Guadalupe ("Lupe"), 1960; decision to move to Denton, Texas, 1964; her decision to attend beauty school; their activities with Immaculate Conception catholic Church in Denton; his activities with Hispanic parishioners; establishment of Familias Unidas and its incorporation with LULAC, 1975; their involvement with the YMCA, Big Brothers and Sisters, Juvenile Board, Traffic Commission Board, Child Welfare Board, War on Drugs, selective Service Board, Hope Board, Civil Service Commission, Hispanics at Risk, his various awards and citations; his involvement in local politics; his involvement in the Catholic Jail ministry; her youth as a migrant worker; her community and church activities. Appendix consists of an article from an unknown source (four leaves) and various photographs (six leaves).
